Is anybody still here? I know I haven’t been around that much, but I have been so busy the last few weeks, I’m only just catching my breath. The sad thing about it is that I’m back to work on Friday, so I may as well enjoy the little bit of rest time I have. I guess the good thing about being back to work is that my life will be a bit more structured, maybe even resulting in regular blog entries!
So what has been going on, you ask? Well, I became an auntie again for the second time on July 16th. His name is Andrew and he is a total sweetie. My brother in law and his fiancee are the very proud parents to Andy, and his older brother Tom is starting to adjust to having a new face in the house.
We held an 80th birthday party for my grandmother this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and a nice party, but also A LOT of work. Truth be told, this is what has taken up most of my time in the past few weeks.
I started running again! I am thrilled about this. The doc gave me the ok to start very slowly for the next month (once a week only), so I am following the Couch to 5K week 1 workouts while running for the time being. I want to do more, but I’m trying to be smart about it, so I’m going to stick to slow and steady for now. By September, I should be able to run every second day :)
And now, the sad bit. I had another miscarriage this month. I wasn’t very far along (only 5 weeks), so it was not as painful and devastating as my first one, but I was still upset. More disappointed I guess, I didn’t have time to get attached to the idea, and that is a small blessing. I am doing well now, but I’m thinking about going to see my doctor to ask for some tests. I know they normally won’t test until you’ve had 3 losses, but I don’t really want to do this a third time!
Anyhow, this is my life right now. Hopefully the recipes and workout updates will start to flow at more regular intervals!
