Cutie McWhiskers

Standard

As I am preparing to start this blog entry, what do I see lying on my bed? This:

And then this:
I did not put him like that, I swear! Ponti is hilarious for many reasons, and one of them is the ways in which he contorts his body. And stays contorted for a long, long time. I had to grab the camera to capture it before he got bored with the ceiling fan. It’s just too cute not to share! He certainly earned the nickname ‘Cutie McWhiskers’ tonight.
Today was a marvelous day, which is a bit surprising. Not surprising in a bad way, it’s just that Saturday’s tend to be a day where I completely veg out and do, quite literally, nothing. Let’s put it this way, Shane considers it a productive Saturday when I’m out of bed by 2PM. This does not include eating or showering either. All I can say in my defense is that I am recovering from the week. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Imagine my surprise, as well as Shane’s, when I am out of bed by 10, eating by 11, and going for a long walk by noon. I don’t know what did it, but I just felt the urge to get out and do something. I am so glad I did, today was beautiful! The sun was shining and the air was fragrant. A day that epitomizes the Canadian summer. They’re never long enough, but when they are here they are worth the wait. This year we had a long winter, it felt like it would never end, so days like to day need to be enjoyed while they last.
One thing I didn’t manage was the garden. I am really intimidated by it, as it is large, ugly and completely overgrown. I also have no idea what to do with it. At all. My goal still stands though, I want to clean up the garden so that next summer I will actually be able to use it for something other than weeds and a place for the neighborhood cats to hid in.
My eating stayed clean and my activity was plentiful (2 5K walks, 30 minutes strength training, 17000 + steps total). Tomorrow, I tackle the roads and get my butt running again! I’m really excited to start up again, and that is my activity plan for tomorrow, as well as a walk. No set time for the run, I am just going to take it to where I feel comfortable.
I made that vegan cream pasta again tonight, and OMG, talk about awesome! I’m drooling thinking about it now. I made some modifications which I will share tomorrow, but for now, I will leave you on the edge of your seat in anticipation for the awesomeness that is to come.
See you then!
